A Little About Me
Whether it's a rant about the latest sporting event, lyrics that will never be put to melody or just some unorganized notes, I love to write and play around with ideas in my head. Thanks to my parents constantly keeping a dictionary in my hand, I feel that I have developed many different styles of word choice that allow me to fit my writing to any sort of environment it is intended for.
To complement my diction, I also love to use metaphors to emphasize my points. A lot of these metaphors, along with quick witted comebacks, silly one liners, and occasionally sage advice have come to be known as “Jailan-isms” to my friends. Many of the ideas I write about are drawn from my competitive spirit which can be seen in almost everything I do but is best seen when I'm competing. From the look in my eyes during competition to the smack I talk on the field, competition is a huge part of my life that I often use in my metaphors especially with other athletes. Even if the points seem too loosely connected my passion in the topic allows me to ooze confidence when I speak that, for those who know me, is reassuring. Enough bragging on myself. That being said I wanted this page to reflect my passion for competition specifically my favorite one: Track and Field.
I'm not the most artistic or clever when it comes to thematic elements but if I know two things in the world it's myself, and that there was a professional American football team called the Dayton Triangles. Weird, right? Point being I love my sports so I figured, "Hey why not turn this project into a mini track meet" and Voila! That's exactly what I did. So pace yourself and enjoy, hopefully I'll see you at the finish line.
